Blood or Whiskey formed in Kildare in 1995 as a Traditional Irish band consisting of acoustic guitar, banjo, tin whistle, drums and bass. Their debut self-titled album was heavily influenced by Irish artists such as Christy Moore, The Dubliners, The Wolfe Tones, etc. However, it also had a real punk edge to it through the music something similar to The Pogues, but more so lyrically, singing about such things as gun violence in Dublin. Their second album, "Cashed Out On Culture" (2002) , was more of a Trad-Punk crossover than the first. This release also featured a new line up for the band.
